Began appraising in Bakersfield, California in 1977 for Santa Barbara Savings & Loan
Moved to Simi Valley, California in 1979 and went back to work for Santa Barbara Savings; and eventually went out on my own in 1980. Worked as an independent appraiser until 1987 – when I went back to Santa Barbara Savings (third time) as a review appraiser for 2 years.
First joined the Society of Real Estate Appraisers in 1978 and began taking their classes, eventually getting my SRA designation. After holding several offices in the Ventura Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, I was chapter president in 1982.
I hold a California Appraiser certification license # AR001567
In 1993 I moved to Moreno Valley, California – still staying active in the Appraisal Institute, often acting as a regional rep.
Education has always been a priority and I have always exceeded my education requirements not only for California, but also for the Appraisal Institute.
I am an author of an e-book on appraising and have written articles for Working Real Estate, and have even been quoted in the Washington Post. On Thursday 9/23/2010 I will be doing a presentation on “Appraisal Adjustments” for the Eastern Branch of the Southern California Chapter of the Appraisal Institute.
